Brownie Cupcakes

For the last 2 years, I haven't been able to make a cake for my mom's birthday.  Last year, I had horrible morning sickness, and couldn't eat, let alone bake.  This year, Henry's Baptism was the following weekend, and since I was making the cake for that, I didn't have time to do a second cake.

For an impromptu birthday treat, I decided to make brownies, but rather than cut them the ho-hum boring way, I used my favorite cupcake cookie cutter!  Then I made some frosting (I always have butter and confectioner's sugar ready) and frosted the top of the "cupcake".

Nothing fancy, but a little something special for the woman who, 27 years later, still takes care of me like no one else.
